The most bike-friendly city in Taiwan, credited by CNN in 2010, Kaohsiung, has a comprehensive, growing network of bike lanes around the city, which is more than 150 kilometers long. Moreover, Kaohsiung is also the first city in Taiwan to offer self-serviced bike rental stations to the public. The service, known as C-bike, is available at more than 200 rental stations around the city area. You can rent a bike in one station and return it to one of the others. Simple and easy.

With a credit card(VISA or Mater), or a registered KMRT usual/student card, you can ride wherever you want. And the coolest part is – it’s FREE on every first hour, and only charges NT$ 20 every half hour after then !
