田、水田、田架、白鷺鷥、傳統農舍、樹林、山嵐、山、更遠的山，一層一層，如顏料般協調地堆疊著。

「好像用水彩畫出來的」，是我對美濃的第一印象。

Meinong has been home to tobacco farmers. It is a unique Hakka Village, dotted with green tobacco farms and old-time red brick-and-tile houses. It once contributed to as much as a quarter of the national tobacco production.

    ■ 旗美10號國道快捷公車 (左營-旗山-美濃)。車程約1小時(單程，左營-美濃)。
    ■ 直達美濃車次平日6班, 假日3班。
       其餘班次只達旗山南站；往美濃須在此下車搭轉乘巴士(假日觀光公車/8025/8028/8038)。
    ■ 高鐵左營站到美濃車資50元/人(單程)。

    ■ No.10 Highway Express (Zouying- Cishan-Mienong), about 60 mins driving from Zouying to  Mienong.
    ■ Direct buses of No.10 Highway Express from Zouying to Meinong are 6 during weekdays, 3 during weekends and holidays(refer to the Time Table below). The others stop at Cishan Bus Station (South), continuing to Meinong by Gao Gie Express 8025/8028/8038 or the Cishan - Meinong Tour Bus(weekends and holidays only) .

A more than 200 years old fair, the Gangshan Luokuang Festival │ 岡山籮筐會



每年僅有三次的﹝岡山‧籮筐會﹞，古老的民俗市集

高雄岡山因地處於附近一些山城、漁村的中心平坦地帶，兩百年前就已自然結市，成為南台灣其中一個謂為重要的以物易物的古老趕集市集。因所販賣/以物易物的標的多為竹筐、竹製品等農家用具，所以稱為籮筐會。(譬如台南的牛墟也是趕集的一種，只是以牛隻販賣為主。)

籃筐會至今已經流傳二百餘年了，至今在當地仍是一大盛事。據岡山友人說法，談到籮筐會，岡山男女老少總是非常興奮。每年固定三次，都有特殊的紀念意義，分別在農曆三月二十三日(媽祖生日)、八月十四日(中秋節前夕)，以及九月十五日(義民爺生日)。每次都盛況空前，不僅岡山地區十多個鄉鎮參與盛會，並有遠從台東、屏東、台南、嘉義、雲林前來共襄盛舉的民眾，其熱鬧景況及民俗風情，比鄉下進香作醮更有過之。

市集買賣的內容實質上已經隨時代變遷產生變化。今天的籮筐會，有一部分已有點類似一個巨無霸夜市。不過稍加留意，仍可發現諸多有趣，美觀，且價格實惠的傳統竹編雜貨，古玩，農用小物等 。也可見識市區夜市已罕見的鄉土食事攤位(炸蟋蟀，虎頭蜂窩，鹽炒花生..)。處處充滿溫馨的鄉土氣息。幾年來幾次拜會，每回都烈感受到當地強大的庶民生命力。

Purple Butterfly Valleys in Maolin, Kaohsiung │ 茂林‧紫蝶幽谷

距離高雄市區車程1個小時多一點的山林。
人煙稀少，自然環境豐富。在全世界的生態迷和外國背包客圈子裡已經小有名氣。

Every winter, it is conservatively estimated that at least a million Euploeini butterflies glide on purple wings to the holy mountain of the Rukai and Paiwan Tribes in south Taiwan and take shelter in warm valleys at the foot of Dawu Mountain. About six hundred thousand butterflies winter in "Purple Butterfly Valley", which along with the Monarch butterfly's winter home in Mexico is one of only two mass wintering sites known in the world. "Purple Butterfly Valleys" exist only in the medium and low altitude regions of Kaohsiung, Pingtung and Taitung counties, in the traditional homelands of the Paiwan and Rukai tribes. At present there are about twenty butterfly gathering places known in the area, and the Maolin area of Kaohsiung is home to at least seven.
